B.Com (Computers)
B.Com – Computers is a three-year course which imparts the students with theoretical as well as practical knowledge in the field of commerce and computers.
This course enables the students to understand, learn and manage the use of financial, software computer aided packages connected with various business functions like finance, banking, insurance etc. It develops skills connected with automation and various businesses processing technology and enable the student to develop requisite concepts and skills in mathematics, economics, statistics and computer science.
First Year
Students in first year would be learning consumer and producer behavior in the context of resource allocation among competitive uses part of Business Economics. In Business Organization & Management the subject unfolds the structural realities of managing the business in the modern world. However in financial accounting, the student is introduced to basic framework of accounting, preparation of accounts including finalization relating to sole proprietorship, accounting for special businesses such as consignment and joint ventures and depreciation. In Fundamentals of Computers, the student is introduced to basic concepts in computers, a thorough knowledge in MS. Office and fundamental concepts of internet. In C Language, the students would gain knowledge in simple programming concepts from basics to pointer concepts.
Second Year
The students of II year are given in depth understanding of technical and theoretical aspects of Accounting, Taxation, Banking & Insurance, Business Statistics and RDBMS. Students are helped to grasp theory and ethical perspective relevant to core business, decision making areas. The student gets introduced to Relational Data base management system. In Business Statistics, basic techniques relating to data analysis and interpretation of data would be imparted to the students
Third Year
In final year students learn various issues in Business Law, relating to contracts, sale of goods, Essential Commodities Act, etc. In Corporate Accounting students acquires knowledge of accounting for corporate and statutory corporations like insurance companies, banks etc. As part of Cost Accountancy, they get acquainted with the elements of cost and cost ascertainment in different industries. In Auditing, students are trained with various auditing practices that are important in the corporate world. They also learn how to write reports, understand the techniques involved in presenting the professional reports. In Management Accounting and control, students understand the importance of management accounting in making effective decisions. In Web Programming, designing dynamic web pages is taught using DHTML and Scripting languages.
Course Outcome
The student will be able to demonstrate the basic understanding of accounting policies with practical application. They will be able to monitor and access changing accounting procedures and show ongoing theoretical development and exhibit competent and consistent performance in various subjects.
Students get equipped to accept the challenges of the competitive world. They will be able to understand and develop ability to apply the subject matter in various emerging and real life situations such as filing tax returns, statistical applications in business analysis and marketing research.
Students are ready for beginning a career in the corporate world. They are given a strong foundation enabling to pursue career in taxation. They also learn to prepare cost sheets if necessary in their business. It will be a stepping stone in pursuit of cost accountancy as a profession and will help them understand professional ethics. It will also help them in choosing auditing as a profession. The students will be able to gauge the standards of performance to be used in making an effective interpretation.
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed the Intermediate Public Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, A P, or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto with any group with aggregate marks prescribed by the university and college are eligible for admission to B Com (Computers) 1 Year Course.
